Does Your Neck Tell Your Age?
The neck area is one of the places where the first signs of aging are seen. The reason may be aging, as well as genetic factors and gravity. The resulting sagging pulls the facial tissues down over time and causes the shape of the face to deteriorate. For this reason, neck lift is often applied together with face lift. In cases where only the facelift procedure is performed without neck lift, the deformities in the neck are more noticeable and this situation is interpreted as incomplete surgery. It is possible to get rid of this unpleasant image with various operations. Choosing a hospital and doctor is important because the neck tissue is thinner than other skins.
OPERATION
The operation is performed under general anesthesia. The surgical incision is made behind the ear, under the chin line. The face and neck are stretched upwards and secured with stitches through the skin. When the excess skin is removed, the sagging in the neck is eliminated. At the end of the procedure, the neck becomes taut and aesthetically pleasing.
AFTER OPERATION
If the surgical incision is planned well, it will be well hidden and cannot be seen because it is behind the ear. The operation may take 1 and a half to 2 hours. After the surgery, supportive bandages are applied to the neck area. The bruising, stiffness and swellings begin to decrease within a week and may take up to 15 days to recover (varies from body to body). It takes 6 months for the skin to fully settle.
